Route Profile

Distance 53 km, highest point 238 m
The first day will involve cycling a mixture of off and on-road. There are some great single tracks as well as the odd muddy bridleway to negotiate. The route takes in some of Dorset's finest countryside (and hills) as well as venturing along part of the beautiful Dorset coast. The route has many ascents as well as exciting descents. Many of the climbs are long and steep so on a precautionary note anyone wishing to visit this area should have a reasonable level of fitness. You would certainly earn your tea and cakes when arriving back at your accommodation.

Sunday
Route Profile
Distance 41 km, highest point 259 m
This will see us moving into the hills and deep into the Dorset countryside. This ride will be less strenuous than Day 1 but has many high points. The route consists of a mixture of off road single track, byways and minor roads. The highlight of the day involves visiting Cerne Abbas, home of the spectacular chalk giant figure. It stands at 55 metres high. This dominating figure on the landscape is only one of two human chalk-cut figures in the UK. The scenery around this area is quite breathtaking however, be prepared for some steep hills, but the views will be worth all the effort.
